This Garbaruk Cassette Spacer is a 1.8mm aluminum spacer for installing a SRAM XD cassette on a SRAM XDR freehub. It adds only 1.3g to the drivetrain.

This 1.8mm aluminum spacer sits behind the cassette to take up the extra width of a road freehub body. Garbaruk's cassettes for Shimano HG are made for the narrower HG freehub found on mountain bikes. Installing one of those cassettes on a wider Shimano 11-speed road freehub requires this spacer. The Garbaruk 12-Speed Cassette for SRAM XD uses it the same way to fit SRAM XDR freehubs. It is not needed when the cassette and the freehub match, and Garbaruk's Gen 2.0 XD/XDR cassettes already include one.

When do I need this spacer?

You need it in two cases. First, to fit a cassette made for a SRAM XD freehub onto a SRAM XDR freehub. Second, to fit a Garbaruk cassette made for a Shimano HG freehub onto a Shimano 11-speed road freehub.

Where does this spacer go?

It sits behind the cassette on the freehub. On the wider freehub, a SRAM XDR or a Shimano road freehub, it takes up the extra width so the cassette sits in the right place and holds securely.
