On a SRAM 12-speed XPLR AXS gravel derailleur, the 10-48T fits with no other parts and the 10-50T needs a Garbaruk cage and pulleys kit.
On a SRAM 12-speed eTap AXS road derailleur, both sizes need a Garbaruk cage and pulleys kit. The stock road derailleur is rated to a 36-tooth largest cog.
Questions
SRAM rates my XPLR derailleur to a 44-tooth cog. Will the 10-48T work?
Yes. The 10-48T fits a SRAM 12-speed XPLR AXS derailleur with no other parts, which is above SRAM's published 44-tooth maximum for those derailleurs. The 10-50T is the size that needs a Garbaruk cage and pulleys kit.
How do I tell a SRAM XD freehub from an XDR freehub?
An XDR freehub is slightly longer than an XD freehub, and the included 1.8 mm spacer takes up the difference. Fit the cassette directly to an XD freehub, or add the spacer to fit an XDR freehub.
Should I choose this 12-speed cassette or the 13-speed XPLR cassette?
This 12-speed cassette tops out at 10-50T and fits SRAM 12-speed AXS road, eTap, and XPLR gravel derailleurs. If you ride a SRAM RED, Force, or Rival XPLR 13-speed derailleur, choose the Garbaruk 13-Speed Gen 2.0 XPLR Cassette instead.
