Overview

The Ingrid 11-Speed Cassette for SRAM XD fits a SRAM XD driver in a single 10-46T range. It is machined in Italy in two parts: the smaller cogs from AISI 9840 steel, the three largest from 7075-T6 aluminum. The steel cogs are nickel-phosphorus plated and the aluminum cogs are hard anodized, both for a long wearing life. It weighs 294 g.

Why we love it

We love that the Ingrid cassette is machined from two metals and built to be renewed, not thrown away.

  • 01The smaller cogs are heat-treated AISI 9840 steel with a nickel-phosphorus plating, for durability and precise shifting.
  • 02The three largest cogs are 7075-T6 aluminum with a hard-anodized surface, which cuts weight while resisting wear.
  • 03Because it is machined in two parts, each part is available separately as a spare, so the cassette can be renewed instead of replaced.
Why it makes the cut. Hammer & Howl only carries parts we believe are among the best in the business. We believe Ingrid cassettes are a beautifully made, repairable choice among high-end cassettes.

Will it fit your bike?

Compatible with

  • The Ingrid RD1 MK2 Rear Derailleur in the short cage, which reaches a 46-tooth cog
  • 11-speed chains

Not compatible with

  • Shimano HG and Shimano Micro Spline freehubs
  • 10-speed, 12-speed, and 13-speed drivetrains
  • Derailleurs without the cage capacity to reach a 46-tooth cog

Confirm before ordering

Confirm your wheel has a SRAM XD driver and that your rear derailleur reaches a 46-tooth cog. If you are not sure which freehub or derailleur your bike has, confirm with your bike mechanic or contact Hammer & Howl before ordering.

This cassette fits a SRAM XD driver in one range, 10-46T. The 10-tooth smallest cog is what the XD driver allows. Ingrid specifies the RD1 short cage for a cassette up to 46 teeth, so match the derailleur cage to the 46-tooth largest cog.

Questions

Which derailleur cage do I need?

One that reaches a 46-tooth cog. Ingrid specifies its RD1 short cage for a cassette up to 46 teeth, and its long cage for 48 to 52 teeth. The short cage is the one Ingrid matches to this cassette. Contact Hammer & Howl before ordering if you are working from a long cage.

How durable are the aluminum cogs?

Aluminum is less durable than steel, but it weighs less. Ingrid uses it only for the three largest cogs, where the chain load is spread across the most teeth and each tooth carries less of it. The smaller, harder-working cogs are heat-treated AISI 9840 steel with a nickel-phosphorus plating.

Can I replace part of the cassette?

Yes. The cassette is machined in two parts, and Ingrid makes the steel section and the aluminum section available separately as spares. If one part wears, that part can be renewed rather than the whole cassette.

How is this different from the 12-speed Ingrid cassette?

This one is 11-speed in a single 10-46T range. The Ingrid 12-Speed Cassette for SRAM XD is 12-speed and comes in 11-44T, 10-48T, and 10-52T. Both are the same two-part steel and aluminum build on a SRAM XD driver.
