Overview

The Ingrid 110x5 BCD Spider mounts on an Ingrid crank in place of a direct-mount chainring and gives a standard 110 BCD five-arm bolt pattern. That opens the crank to any 110 BCD chainring rather than Ingrid's own direct-mount rings. It is machined in Italy from 7075-T6 aluminum and weighs 73 g.

Why we love it

We love that one part turns a closed direct-mount crank into an open one.

  • 01It carries the standard 110 BCD five-arm pattern, so an Ingrid crank can take any 110 BCD chainring rather than only Ingrid's direct-mount rings.
  • 02It is machined in Italy from 7075-T6 aluminum and weighs 73 g, so the flexibility costs little weight.
Why it makes the cut. Hammer & Howl only carries parts we believe are among the best in the business. This spider earns its place because it widens what an Ingrid crank can be built with.

Will it fit your bike?

Compatible with

  • Ingrid cranks with the direct-mount chainring interface
  • 110 BCD five-arm chainrings

Not compatible with

  • Cranks from any other brand
  • Fitting an Ingrid direct-mount chainring to a non-Ingrid crank, which this part does not do
  • Chainrings on any bolt pattern other than 110 BCD five arm

Confirm before ordering

Confirm your crank is an Ingrid crank with the direct-mount interface, and confirm which spindle length it uses, before ordering. If you are not sure, confirm with your bike mechanic or contact Hammer & Howl.

The spider bolts onto the Ingrid crank's direct-mount interface and presents a 110 BCD five-arm pattern on the outside. Chainline is 45.5 mm with the L131 spindle and 48 mm with the L136 spindle, so check which spindle your crank uses.

Questions

What does this spider actually do?

It replaces the direct-mount chainring on an Ingrid crank and presents a standard 110 BCD five-arm pattern instead. The crank then takes 110 BCD chainrings from any maker.

Will it let me fit an Ingrid chainring to my own crank?

No, it works the other way round. It opens an Ingrid crank to outside chainrings. It does not adapt an Ingrid direct-mount chainring onto a crank from another brand.

Does it change my chainline?

Yes. With the spider the chainline is 45.5 mm on the L131 spindle and 48 mm on the L136 spindle. A direct-mount Ingrid chainring on the same crank sits further out, so check the spindle you have before ordering.
