Overview
Why we love it
We love Garbaruk cassettes because they strike a great balance between light weight, durability, beauty, and price.
- 01The CNC machined chromoly steel cogs provide the durability of steel while being lighter than stamped cogs.
- 02The color anodized 7075-T651 aluminum alloy big cog reduces weight and adds a gorgeous luster to the drivetrain.
- 03At a full 10-52T, Garbaruk's famed extended range enables riders to tackle a wider variety of terrain with comfort.

Questions
Which freehub do I need?
A Shimano Micro Spline freehub. This cassette does not fit SRAM XD or XDR freehubs, or Shimano HG freehubs.
What is the difference between Gen 1 and Gen 2.0?
They share the same 10-52T range and the same cog sequence. They differ in weight and in price. This Gen 1 cassette is no longer produced, and the current version is the Garbaruk 12-Speed Gen 2.0 MTB Cassette for Shimano Micro Spline.
Why is only one color available?
Garbaruk no longer produces the Gen 1 cassette, so what is here is the last of it. Red is the color still in stock. The other seven are listed so you can see the full range this cassette was made in.
Will this work with my Shimano 12-speed derailleur?
Only with the Garbaruk cage. The 52-tooth largest cog is above Shimano's official 51-tooth maximum for its 12-speed mountain derailleurs, so a stock derailleur is not supported. Fitting the Garbaruk Rear Derailleur Cage for Shimano 12-Speed MTB / GRX 12-Speed lets the derailleur reach the 52-tooth cog.
Do I need to buy a lockring?
Yes. A lockring is not in the box with this cassette. The Garbaruk Cassette Lockring for Shimano Micro Spline is the matching part.
Can I replace the aluminum largest cog?
Yes. Garbaruk makes the aluminum largest cog replaceable, so you can renew or recolor it instead of replacing the whole cassette. Replacement cogs are available only from Garbaruk directly, not from dealers, so contact Garbaruk to order one.
